Bruegger's Bakery-Cafe Opens in Hamden
Portion of opening day sales to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank
Hamden, Conn. (November 26, 2007) – Bruegger’s Enterprises, Inc.
celebrated the grand opening of its newest location this morning at 2425 Dixwell
Avenue in Hamden, Connecticut. To celebrate the occasion and thank the
community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated to
the Connecticut Food Bank.
Bruegger’s CEO, James J. Greco, a resident of Cheshire, Conn., was joined
this morning by Hamden Mayor Craig Henrici, members of the Hamden Chamber of
Commerce, and Nancy Carrington, executive director of the Connecticut Food
Bank, for the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m.
“Connecticut is a growing market for Bruegger’s,” said James
J. Greco, CEO of Bruegger’s. “I am excited that we continue to
grow in my home state of Connecticut. I am proud that Bruegger’s
is committed to supporting local organizations such as the Connecticut Food
Bank as they help serve the needs of the community.”
The new Hamden location has seating for up to 50 guests and will employ approximately
20 people. Bruegger’s currently operates a total of nine locations
in Connecticut employing more than 125 people. The first Bruegger’s bakery-cafe
opened in West Hartford in 1992. The bakery is open daily 6:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. and features free, unlimited wireless Internet and a drive-thru service.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger’s bagels are baked fresh throughout the
day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy
texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger’s offers
an extensive menu that includes hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order
sandwiches and unique coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade CertifiedÔ blend.
