Bruegger's South Carolina Growth Continues; Bakery-Cafe Experience Comes to Lexington
Portion of grand opening sales benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank
Lexington, S.C. (November 8, 2007) – Marking continued growth in South
Carolina, Lowcountry Bagels, LLC celebrated the grand opening of the first
Bruegger’s bakery-cafe in Lexington at 5225 Sunset Boulevard. The Lowcountry
Bagels franchise group, led by principal Daniel B. Krueger, and Lexington Mayor
Randy Halfacre welcomed local business people, friends and family for a grand
opening event on Thursday evening. To thank the community for its support,
a portion of grand opening proceeds will be donated to the Harvest Hope Food
Bank, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing for the needs of the
hungry by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion and education.
The Lexington bakery has seating for up to 50 guests and currently employs
15 people. The new bakery features free, unlimited wireless Internet for guests
and is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from
6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“This is an important market for Bruegger’s and we’re confident
that the Lexington bakery will be a community favorite for breakfast and lunch,” said
Daniel B. Krueger, Bruegger’s franchisee. “Bruegger’s offers
delicious, healthy menu options that are always fast and fresh.”
“More than 40 percent of our bakeries are owned and operated by our
franchise partners, such as Lowcountry Bagels,” said James J. Greco,
Bruegger’s CEO. “They play a very important part in bringing
the Bruegger’s experience to the community. I congratulate the
Lowcountry franchise organization on their new opening and wish them many years
of success.”
There are currently five additional Bruegger’s locations in South Carolina,
with locations in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg. The first
Bruegger’s bakery-cafe opened in Charleston in August of 2006. More
than 100 of Bruegger’s 256 locations are operated by franchisee owners
like Lowcountry Bagels.
