Bruegger's New Soups Are Perfect Beside Bagels or Served Inside Them
New signature soup line includes distinctive vegetarian recipes
Delicious pumpkin and apple flavors take center stage on fall menu
Burlington, Vt. (September 19, 2007) – Bruegger’s will
celebrate the change of seasons with a unique line up of delicious fall flavors
highlighted by all new signature soups, prepared exclusively for Bruegger’s. Each
of these warm, hearty soups has been custom crafted by Philip Smith, Bruegger’s
executive chef, to ensure that the proprietary recipes meet all of Bruegger’s
high standards for quality, taste and texture.
Additionally, Bruegger’s is introducing the perfect complement to its
new soups, a Bagel Bowl. After eating the soup, guests can enjoy eating the
bowl it was served in! Bruegger’s exclusive Bagel Bowl can be paired
with any of the soups and is available as a limited time offer. The
Bagel Bowl is prepared the same way Bruegger’s famous bagels are made:
kettle boiled then baked for a crunchy crust and moist, chewy interior.
The new signature soup varieties include unique offerings: Chicken Spaetzle,
a twist on a classic chicken noodle, is now Bruegger’s signature soup
and will be offered every day; Steak and Onion, reminiscent of traditional
French onion soup incorporating tender pieces of beef and sautéed onions
in a hearty beef broth; Chicken Tortilla infusing the spicy flavors of pulled
chicken, tomatoes, onions, garlic, corn and chilies; and two distinctive vegetarian
offerings, Fire Roasted Tomato and Butternut Squash. Familiar soup favorites
that have been enhanced with a Bruegger’s flair, include New England
Clam Chowder, Beef Chili, Chicken and Wild Rice and Four Cheese Broccoli.
“We conducted extensive research into our guests’ perceptions
of our soup program as well as those of our competitors which led to an extensive
test involving 32 soups and 96 bakeries,” said Bruegger’s Chief
Executive Officer James J. Greco. “Our guests have come to expect
a high level of quality and flavor from Bruegger’s menu, from our freshly
baked bagels to our premium sandwiches, salads and desserts. These new signature
soups are just another way to continue providing our customers with unique,
flavorful food choices.”
“Soup is the ultimate comfort food and we are offering a full range
of bold, diverse flavors to satisfy everyone’s tastes,” said Bruegger’s
Executive Chef Philip Smith. “We received important feedback from
our guests and have spent the past year perfecting new recipes that are exclusive
to Bruegger’s.”
Also, in order to provide guests with as much information as possible at their
fingertips, guests will now be able to log on to the Bruegger’s website and
find out when their favorite soups are being offered at their neighborhood
bakery.
