Local franchise group to develop several bakery-cafes in the Huntsville area
Huntsville, Ala. (June 15, 2006) - The fresh bakery-cafe experience of Bruegger's has officially arrived in Huntsville. The Bama Bagels franchise group, led by principals Joe Greco, John Greco, M.D. and Richard Spratt, opened the first of several Bruegger's bakery-cafes in Huntsville in the Shops at Bailey Cove at 2000 Cecil Ashburn Drive. To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
A ribbon cutting ceremony led by Loretta Spencer, the mayor of Huntsville, the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and Bruegger's marked the grand opening.
"We are excited to open the first Bruegger's in Alabama and we thank our guests and the community for their support," said John Greco, M.D., Bruegger's franchisee. "This is a new market for Bruegger's and we are proud to bring the Bruegger's experience to Huntsville. We're looking forward to developing this market and establishing Bruegger's as a leader in the quick, casual dining segment."
"Our franchisees play an integral role to the overall success and growth strategy of Bruegger's," said Bruegger's CEO James Greco. "Our franchisees knowledge of the local community will play a key part to our success. We're very proud to be a part of the Huntsville community and, moreover, to be opening Alabama's first Bruegger's bakery-cafe. We look forward to a successful partnership and building a strong relationship with the Huntsville community."
"In addition to our signature boiled and baked bagels, we provide our guests with an array of healthy dining options in a comfortable dining environment," added John Greco, M.D.
Kettle boiled first, Bruegger's bagels are baked daily on a stone-hearth to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu that includes hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade blend, and a line of espresso and cappuccino drinks.
A soft color scheme, emphasizing natural textures and warm tones balanced with bright colors is an integral part of the Bruegger's bakery-cafes design making it an inviting experience. The bakery-cafe will also feature a drive-thru window and free wireless internet service in the dining room.
Approximately 96 of Bruegger's 243 locations are franchisee-owned. The Bama Bagels, LLC franchise group plans to develop several new Bruegger's bakery-cafes in the Huntsville area by 2008.
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.
