Bruegger's Opens New Bakery in Nashville

New location to test "Meals to Go" delivery service

Nashville, Tenn. (May 20, 2005) - The fresh bakery-cafe experience of Bruegger's has expanded as Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc., an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., officially opened a new bakery at 422 21st Avenue South, Nashville. To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

A ribbon cutting ceremony led by the Mayor's Office of Economic Development, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and representatives from the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital marked the grand opening.

The bakery will also be the first in the country to launch a new delivery service for "Meals to Go", Bruegger's new carry-out catering service that launched system-wide in January 2005. Deliveries of boxed lunches and lunch platters will operate out of the new bakery location. Based on the success and market response to the delivery program, Bruegger's plans to roll out the delivery service to select markets nationwide.

As a part of its company wide initiative to roll out the new bakery design system wide, Bruegger's bakeries located at 330 Franklin Road, Brentwood and 5311 Harding Road also unveiled the new bakery design.

The bakery also features an expanded menu that includes new hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, stone hearth breads, sandwiches and unique coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade blend. Bruegger's operates a total of three company-owned bakeries in the greater Nashville area with locations at 300 Franklin Road, Brentwood and 5311 Harding Road, Nashville.

The new bakery design features a completely new and softer color scheme, emphasizing natural textures and warm tones balanced with bright colors. The bakery also features booth-style seating, hardwood flooring and new menu boards. Extensive research showed that guests were looking to experience a more wholesome and natural dining environment.

More than one-half of Bruegger's 243 locations are company-owned, including all three Nashville bakeries. Based on its market analysis, Bruegger's plans to develop 100 new bakeries between 2005 and year-end 2007, consisting of approximately 15 new company-owned locations and approximately 85 new franchised locations. The new location will be open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays.
