Bruegger's Opens Second Bakery in Nation's Capital
Bakery-cafe leader opens its second Washington D.C. location
Washington D.C. (April 7, 2008) – The nation’s capital has plenty
of historical sights, memorials and museums, but how about fresh, authentic
bagels? Bruegger’s, best known for its hot-from-the-oven bagels
and an expansive menu that includes made to order fresh sandwiches, soups and
salads, opened its second location in Washington D.C. today. The new
bakery is located at 505 9th Street NW Street and the hours of operation are
from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
“The opening of this location marks our continued growth in the District
of Columbia,” said James J. Greco, Bruegger’s CEO. “We opened
our first D.C. location here less than a month ago and also have bakeries in
nearby Alexandria. We look forward to our continued growth and success
in this market.”
The new bakery features a comfortable dining environment and seating for up
to 58 guests. The first Washington D.C. Bruegger’s, located at
2101 L Street NW, opened on March 20, 2008. There are currently plans
to open additional bakeries later this year in both Arlington and Washington
D.C.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger’s bagels are baked fresh throughout the
day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy
texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger’s offers
an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats. Menu items include new
Signature Soups, hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches
and unique Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® coffee blends, including a daily
