Bruegger's Opens in Nation's Capital
Bakery-cafe leader opens its first Washington D.C. location
Washington D.C. (March 20, 2008) – The fresh bakery-cafe experience
of Bruegger’s has officially arrived in the nation’s capital city. Bruegger’s
Enterprises, Inc. opened the first of several Bruegger’s bakery-cafes
in Washington D.C. The bakery is located at 2101 L Street NW and a second
D.C. location is planned for mid-April 2008. The bakery, which features unlimited,
free wireless Internet, is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
“The District of Columbia is a new market for Bruegger’s and we
are proud to be in the nation’s capital,” said James J. Greco,
Bruegger’s CEO. “We recently opened other locations in the vicinity,
with two bakeries in Alexandria. We look forward to developing this market
and becoming a part of the community.”
The first Washington D.C.-area Bruegger’s opened in Virginia in February
of 2006. There are currently plans to open two additional bakeries later
this year in both Arlington and Washington D.C.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger’s bagels are baked fresh throughout the
day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy
texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger’s offers
an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats. Menu items include new
Signature Soups, hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches
