Bruegger's Opens In Alexandria Marking First of Several Locations Planned For The Washington, D.C. and Virginia Markets

Portion of Grand Opening sales donated to local nonprofit, ALIVE!

Alexandria, Va. (February 23, 2007) - Marking its continued growth, Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. opened its newest location at 606 King Street in the Old Town section of Alexandria today at 6:00 a.m. To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated ALIVE!, a local nonprofit that provides the largest private safety net for the needy in the city of Alexandria.

Bruegger's CEO James J. Greco was joined this morning by the Mayor of Alexandria and representatives from the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and ALIVE! for an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

As part of the grand opening celebration Bruegger's welcomed today's first 25 guests with a Bruegger's bottomless mug, good for free refills of coffee, tea or soda through the end of 2007.

"Bruegger's was very successful in 2006 with the addition of two new markets and record growth, and we are continuing this momentum by bringing the Bruegger's experience to Alexandria," said Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. CEO James J. Greco. "Bruegger's freshly baked bagels and delicious, healthy menu choices have created loyal guests throughout the country and have contributed to our national brand recognition. We are delighted to be a part of the Alexandria community."

Bruegger's is experiencing the eleventh consecutive quarter of comparable restaurant sales growth, marking a company record of consistent sales growth. Bruegger's plans to open 50 new bakeries in 2007 and 2008.

Kettle boiled first, Bruegger's bagels are baked fresh throughout the day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu that includes hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches and unique coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade CertifiedTM blend. The King Street location also will offer free wireless Internet.

A soft color scheme, emphasizing natural textures and warm tones balanced with bright colors is an integral part of the Bruegger's bakery design making it an inviting experience. The King Street location has seating for 40 guests and will employ 18 people. The bakery is open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
