Bruegger's Opens First Bakery-Cafe in Winston Salem
Portion of opening day proceeds to benefit the Brenner Children's Hospital;
Local franchise group to develop nine bakeries in Triad Region of North Carolina
Winston Salem, N.C. (February 16, 2006) - The fresh bakery-cafe experience of Bruegger's has officially arrived to Winston Salem. The Bagel Boys of Triad franchise group, led by principals Craig Hunter, Guy Hunter and Ralph Heckman, opened Winston Salem's first Bruegger's bakery-cafe in the Towers Plaza at 205 South Stratford Road. To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day sales will be donated to the Brenner Children's Hospital.
The grand opening was officially commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by local elected officials and representatives from the Brenner Children's Hospital and Bruegger's.
"We are excited to bring the Bruegger's experience to Winston Salem and we thank our guests and the community for their support," said Guy Hunter, Bruegger's franchisee. "Because Bruegger's has existing locations in Charlotte and the Raleigh-Durham area, the Triad region made perfect sense. We're looking forward to developing this market and establishing Bruegger's as a leader in the quick, casual dining segment."
"Our franchisees are an integral part of the Bruegger's growth strategy," said Bruegger's President David Austin, who was on site for the grand opening. "Our franchise partner's first hand knowledge of the local area will be an integral part of bringing the Bruegger's experience to the local area. We look forward to a successful partnership and becoming a part of the Winston Salem community."
"While our signature product is our freshly boiled and baked bagels, we also offer our guests an array of healthy dining choices in a comfortable dining environment," added Hunter.
Kettle boiled first, Bruegger's bagels are baked daily on a stone-hearth to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu that includes hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, stone hearth breads, made-to-order sandwiches and unique coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade blend.
A soft color scheme, emphasizing natural textures and warm tones balanced with bright colors is an integral part of the Bruegger's bakery design making it a comfortable and inviting experience.
Approximately 95 of Bruegger's 242 locations are franchisee-owned. The Bagel Boys of Triad franchise group plans to develop a total of nine new Bruegger's bakery-cafes in Forsyth County, Alamance County, the city of High Point and Greensboro, North Carolina by 2009.
The new bakery features adjoining real estate with Dilworth Coffee House and an outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays.
