Bruegger's Helps Winchester Cool Off
Borggaard Beach Brueggacino on sale the weekend of August 14; benefits Borggaard Beach Splash Park
(August 14, Winchester, MA) Bruegger’s Bakery and Café has dedicated the weekend of August 14 through August 16 to cooling off. The bakery, located at 600 Main Street, will donate $1 from sales of its signature Brueggaccino coffee beverages this weekend to the Family Action Network of Winchester (FAN) to help the group enhance, beautify and revitalize Winchester’s Borggaard Beach recreational area to make it a year round community-gathering place for all Winchester residents.
The group’s primary goal is to install an inclusive automated, interactive splash park area for children. They also aim to update the current playground amenities to include accessible play features to promote inclusivity as well as add additional interest for all ages.
During this time of economic uncertainty, a multi-use facility would provide a low cost accessible recreational activity for families, defray the substantial loss the town of Winchester incurs in the beach’s operational costs, and help support our local economy by retaining residents’ presence, and shopping dollars, within our community, according to FAN representatives.
The group has extended a heartfelt “Thank you” in appreciation to Winchester’s Brueggers Bakery for sponsoring their Aug. 15 Borggaard Beach Party Fundraisor.
In addition to their sponsorship, they will be providing special “Borggaard Beach Party Coupons” at the event. When you redeem them at Brueggers in Winchester, $1 of your transaction will be donated to Fansplash.org.
“Brueggie,” the bakery’s mascot, will also make an appearance to meet the kids and pose for pictures.
FAN will also have music, beach and water activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the beach will be open or your enjoyment until dusk. The Reach out & Read Program will be on hand to read to children as well!
