A Taste of Authentic New York Bagels Comes to Boca Raton; Grand Opening of City's First Bruegger's Bakery-Café
Portion of opening day proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organization
Boca Raton, Fla. (September 12, 2008) - The authentic New York bagel experience has officially arrived in Southern Florida. The Star Bakeries, Inc. franchise group, led by principals Avi and Moshe Stern, opened the first of several Bruegger's bakeries planned for Southern Florida. The new bakery opened in the Fifth Ave Shoppes at 2146 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton. To celebrate the occasion and thank the community for its support, a portion of opening day proceeds will be donated to The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organization.A ribbon cutting ceremony led by Mayor Susan Wechtel, representatives from Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and Bruegger's CEO James Greco marked the grand opening.

Approximately 96 of Bruegger's 282 locations are franchisee-owned. The Star Bakeries franchise group plans to develop 20 new Bruegger's bakery-cafés in North Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County over the next 7 years.
A soft color scheme, emphasizing natural textures and warm tones balanced with bright colors is an integral part of the Bruegger's bakery-cafés design making it an inviting experience. The bakery-café will also feature a drive-thru window and free wireless internet service in the dining room. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger's bagels are baked fresh throughout the day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger's offers an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats. Menu items include new Signature Soups, hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches and unique Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade Certified blend.
